Similar to the Greco-Roman period, Cherson developed foundry, as well as blacksmithing and jewellery. Excavations uncovered metal-making workshops with remains of production waste such as slag and blooms that developed in kilns when smelting of iron from ore. Fragments of such remains you can see at the bottom. Iron was extracted out of local marsh ore, nonferrous metals were imported.

In the right part of the vitrine, iron rings are presented; a little bit above them, on the left there are round lead casts, and below them there are clay crucibles for smelting colour metals.
